Amazing Africa

Last week an explorer came to visit Oak class! Mr Hall told us all about his trek around Africa and some of the amazing sights he saw.

After play we went out and Mr Hall showed us how to make MASSIVE maps with ropes. Then he sent us on a trail, using a map of the school to find lots of hidden clues on the playground and the field. It was very exciting and we used the map carefully to work out where the clues were. Luckily it was a very sunny day and we really enjoyed learning outside. We have done lots of learning about maps this term and used atlases to find out about far away places but it was a very different challenge to use a map of the place we were in!
